There is a possibility that two Guinness World Records may be broken by the collection of 2,539 nativity scenes that is now on display at an Iowa bank.
Michael Zahs’ collection of 2,539 unique nativity scenes is now being shown at the Hills Bank in Washington, and the event is free and open to the public.
Zahs said that he had been amassing the nativity scenes since the 1950s, and that they originated from more than one hundred different nations. He said that the preparation of all of the sequences in the bank took around six weeks.
“It is quite enjoyable for me to have folks come and examine the particulars. You may see the exhibit for the biblical passages that are included in it, or you can view it for the materials and the artwork that are included. The majority of them were crafted by hand, and many of them have an extensive historical background “According to Zahs, KCRG-TV.
Zahs said that he is now working on submitting his collection to Guinness World Records in the hopes of having it recognized as the biggest collection in the world. The record for the greatest collection of nativity sets was established at 1,802 in 2009, while the record for the largest exhibition of nativity sets was set at 2,150 in 2010. The current record for the largest collection of nativity sets is 1,802.
The collection that Zahs brought in will stay in the bank until January.
