She’s known for her charming gaffes and tumbles, but there’s one incident that really makes Jennifer Lawrence cringe.

The 25-year-old actress, during an appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, recalled a mortifying wardrobe malfunction the first time she met Francis Ford Coppola.

‘I was in Paris for the first time… for movies and froufroufrou,’ she told host Jimmy Fallon as she put on a rather busty display in a plunging black top.

‘And I was in one of those cool Tom Ford dresses with the zip,’ she continued.

The Oscar-winning actress then described summoning the courage to introduce herself to The Godfather creator and everyone else at his ‘gigantic’ dinner table.

‘It was in a restaurant… I noticed that I was barefoot, and I was like, ‘Ahh, they probably won’t notice,’ she said as she recalled walking around the table, shaking hands with everyone, and saying her name.

‘No one knew who I was,’ she said.

‘Then I went back to my table, and my entire dress was unzipped and my thong was out,’ she cringed.

‘So I was barefoot, and my whole ass was out,’ she giggled.

The American Hustle actress seemed intent on divulging her most embarrassing moments for Fallon.

Earlier in the show she admitted mistaking a woman for deceased actress Elizabeth Taylor at an awards party for the Silver Linings Playbook movie in 2012.

‘I was just in the corner, drinking champagne like ‘ugggg’,’ she gestured.

‘In my head, I was like, ‘You’re Elizabeth Taylor’,’ she confessed.

In Lawrence’s booze-fueled confusion she began to crudely compliment the woman for Taylor’s accomplishments.

‘I was like, your movies, that I can’t name, and your fashion moments, that I don’t know, I was like, ‘’you’re unbelievable’’,’ she admitted with a grimace.

‘Then my friend walked by, and I was like, ‘This is Elizabeth Taylor’, and she was like, ‘No, it’s not’,’ she tittered.

‘Then I just like took off running,’ she gurgled, taking a heavy swig from the mug next to her chair.

‘I just sprinted, and my shoes fell off, and I hid behind this wall’.

As Lawrence coughed and spluttered at Fallon she explained: ‘I always talk so fast, because of my brothers, they’re always like ‘finish, nobody wants to hear you talk’.

‘Some of that just came out of your nose,’ said the host as she struggled with the drink.

‘I’m getting over a cold, so much phlegm,’ she exclaimed graphically.

Lawrence is currently promoting two movies: Mockingjay Part 2, the final in the Hunger Games saga, and Joy with Robert De Niro.

After her famed tumble at the Oscars, she says she is still rather clumsy on her feet.

‘I fell in every single city on the press tour; I fell around the world,’ she sighed.

‘It actually makes me quite mad when it happens,’ she conceded, vowing that the trait is not a schtick for attention.

‘I spilled yogurt all over the plane, and the whole plane smelled of sour milk the whole time,’ she said of her recent travels.

When asked if she spends time with her Hunger Games co-stars off set, she said: ‘We’re not saying goodbye; we are so codependent.’

Adding: ‘We have a relationship that a therapist would probably say is unhealthy because they are jealous’.

In a funny musical skit, Fallon had Lawrence dress as a goofy dance instructor, who was touting silly moves such as ‘bury the nut’, ’bowling confetti’, and ‘lunch box salute’.

‘I just want you to come dance with me,’ she crooned while spilling water on Fallon’s desk and gesticulating wildly.
